Federal retirement calculators

These federal retirement calculators turn the published OPM, TSP and FEHB rules into educational estimates on numbers you type in. Each one shows its assumptions, dates its inputs and explains the math in words, so you can check it against your own records.

None of them asks for your name. None of them is the official figure: OPM computes your annuity when you retire, and that number is the one that counts. If you are a free FFEBA member, you can save results and come back to them.

How we build these tools

Every calculator uses the rule as OPM, the TSP or the Social Security Administration publishes it, and every figure it reads from a table carries the source and the date we retrieved it. When a rule changes, we update the tool and its date. See the source tables on the data pages, or read the plain-language guides behind each tool.

When the numbers raise a question

A calculator shows the shape of a decision. It cannot see your SF-50, your service history or your family's needs.

FFEBA is an education organization. If you want someone to look at your own numbers, we can match you with a Federal Retirement Consultant (FRC®), a professional trained on federal benefits. The FRC designation is listed with FINRA. The first review is free, nothing is booked until you choose a time, and you are never obligated to work with anyone we introduce. Get matched with an FRC.

The free benefits review

“Can I retire at 57 with the FERS supplement?”

It depends on your birth year, your years of service and whether you keep working, because the supplement has an earnings test and stops at 62. An FRC works it through on your own record, and the review costs you nothing.
